WARNING

Please note, browser with WebMIDI support is required. WebMIDI is currently supported with Chrome (opens new window) and Edge (opens new window) browsers.

# Signing in

Signing in to your Electra One application account is required for accessing the Preset library and the Editor.

Electra App login page

Once you sign in, you get access to two distinct libraries of presets. One is owned by you while the other is the library of all presets shared by other Electra One users.

# My presets

My presets, as the name suggests, is a library of your own presets. There are four ways to add presets to My presets library:

  1. Create them from scratch.
  2. Get a copy of someone else's preset from the public Preset library.
  3. Import .eproj or .epr files from the computer.
  4. Import the preset from the hardware controller

My presets

The presets of your private preset library are shown as a list of tiles, each tile representing one preset. A click on the tile takes you to the Preset detail page. The tile also gives you an option to send the preset to your Electra One controller directly from the My presets list.

# Preset library

The Preset library is a collection of all presets maintained and shared by other Electra One Account users. A click on the preset tile takes you to the Preset detail page. The tile also gives you an option to send the preset to your Electra One controller directly from the list.

# Preset detail

The Preset detail page gives you complete information about the and several actions to take.

The top banner reads brief information about the name and the author of the preset. The actions are listed below the brief information.

Further down, the left panel describes the preset while the right side shows the renderings of all preset pages. That means you can review the preset even without opening an Electra Editor or loading the preset to your Electra One controller.

Preset detail

The preset detail has different actions for presets you own and for public presets.

With your own presets you can:

  1. Send the preset to your Electra One controller.
  2. Open the preset in the Electra Editor to make changes to it.
  3. Download the preset as a file.
  4. Download the project file with the preset definition and all Lua script source code in it.
  5. Make a copy of the preset
  6. Share the preset with other Electra App Account users, ie. make it public
  7. Manage snapshots linked to the preset.
  8. Delete the preset.
  9. Set the preset categories and tags.
  10. Manage the preset revisions.

The management of the preset categories, tags, and revisions is located at the bottom of the Preset description.

The categories and tags are here to make it easier to find your preset. Either by you or other users in case of presets shared with others. The Preset library and My presets use categories and tags to filter the list of presets.

TIP

Deleting a preset removes the preset from your preset library. It does not remove it from Electra One controller internal storage. Use Preset slots page in the Controller section to remove presets from the hardware controller permanently.

With public presets you can:

  1. Send the preset to your Electra One controller.
  2. Get a copy of the public preset to your library, ie. clone the preset. The copy of the preset becomes your new private preset.
  3. Download the preset as a file.
  4. Download the project file with the preset definition and all Lua script source code in it.
  5. Manage your own snapshots linked to the preset.

# Preset revisions

Preset revisions can be accessed by clicking on the previous revisions link in the Last updated section. The preset revisions is a powerful system of saved versions of your presets. It allows you to mark important steps and milestones in process of preset development. If needed, older revisions can be re-called later and converted to new presets.

Preset revisions

Saved revisions are created whenever you save a preset. When saving a preset, you can add a short annotation the describes work done in that revision. The editor also creates revisions automatically whenever there are unsaved changes and you send the preset to the Electra One controller or you quit the Preset editor. For more information about saving revisions, please refer to Revisions in the Preset editor documentation.

Revisions can be also used to transfer changes between private and public presets. Imagine a situation when you need to make changes to a preset that is already shared with other users. In such situation you might want to publish the changes only after you finished and tested your work. To do that safely, you can do all your work in a private copy of the preset and import the final revision to the public preset.

# Controller

The Controller section provides a management of your hardware controller. You can use it to:

  1. Load and delete presets from the controller.
  2. Adjust the configuration of the controller.
  3. Update the firmware.

# Preset slots

The Preset slots represent a list of all location where presets can be loaded. Electra One has 6 banks of 12 preset slots.

Preset slots list

Presets can be loaded to the controller by selecting the preset slot in the left side of the page and clicking the UPLOAD TO SLOT button of chosen preset in the preset list on the right side of the page.

There can be situations when the preset loaded in the hardware controller is not available in the Preset library. You can import such a preset to the Preset library with the IMPORT FROM ELECTRA button.

Selecting a preset slot does not only show the information about the preset, it also switches the active preset slot on the Electra One controller.
